Dallas was founded in 1841, and was formally incorporated as a city in February, 1856. The City's economy is primarily based on banking, commerce, telecommunications, computer technology, energy, healthcare and medical research, transportation and logistics.
In the latest rankings released on September 14, 2011, Dallas was rated as an Alpha- world city by the Globalization and World Cities Study Group & Network and is the only city in the South Central region to achieve that status.
There are 10 major tourist zones and over hundreds of tourist sites in Hunan. Changsha, Yueyang and Fenghuang (Phoenix ancient town) are State-acknowledged historic and cultural cities. Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, acclaimed as UNESCO world natural wonder. Mount Hengshan with unique beauty among five holy mountains in China. Shaoshan, the birthplace of late Chairman of China, Mao Zedong. Lake Dongting and Yueyang Tower standing by the lake are all well-known tourist destinations. With its unique landscape and charming minority customs, Hunan is attracting more and more travelers from all over the world.
Our goal is to build a stronger Hunanese community in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area, and to establish a closer relationship between the DFW Hunanese community and our hometown, Hunan. This relationship should provide a platform for social and professional networking in the areas of science & technology, arts & culture, and trade & commerce. Our close-knit community shares hospitality and warmth among our members, and the DFW community at large.
Within the Association, you can not only chat in hometown (Hunan) dialects, express hometown (Hunan) affection, but also establish friendship and feel family love. In addition to friends from Hunan, we also invite those who are interested in Hunan culture, as well as those who have ties to the Hunan community, to join us in our activities.

We provide community services and organize festival celebrations, arts performance, and other activities to strengthen the relationship among members.
We arrange professional seminars and meetings, inviting local experts from industries to give talks on various topics that are of interest and are beneficial to our members.
